BBQs, Family & Walks

We are raising such a proper boy:) It seems his little ankles are always crossed. (even in his sleep!) And he holds his hands while we're feeding him:) He is also quick to let us know when he wants more to eat...the moment he is finished with a bite, even before we can get the spoon back in the bowl and back to his mouth, his mouth is wide open and waiting. I sometimes feel like I'm feeding a baby bird:)

We went to a BBQ with our Biblestudy small group and had so much fun, although I didn't realize how sore I would be just from playing volleyball!! (does that mean I'm starting to get older?!?!?!)

We also went to Uncle Mike and Auntie Marlene's for part of the weekend. We had so much fun seeing them and Noah had so much fun with their cat. He would talk/shout at the cat and watch it whenever it was in the room. Aaron wasn't too keen on Auntie Marlene's idea to get a cat of our own:) Look at the talented vetran below...she also fed Noah while she was holding him upright next to her...I must still be an apprentice apparently:)

We also went for a walk with some friends and on the way home, he and Lilie were holding hands!:) but don't worry...Noah and I have already made a pact that he won't kiss any other woman for a LONG time:)(technically 35)

Rain, frustration and curiosity

What a week! It has been raining pretty much non-stop here for the last week!

We tried to drive to Ft. Wayne last Sunday (1 1/2 hrs. away) to go to the zoo and we had just entered the zoo and started walking around when the rain came down! And it wasn't a little drizzle either, it was a downpour! So, we packed the car back up (its amazing what we had to take into the zoo with a 9 month old!-food, bottle, blanket, lunch, camera, stroller...:)) and started heading back home. We decided to stop at a little outlet mall about half way home and had some fun, but all in all...it was a turn around trip!

Noah has decided to start testing us. (okay, so not really starting, but its definitely more obvious) He has developed this little girl scream that he uses when he gets really mad and doesn't get his way. We can tell that he really wants to be mobile, but since he isn't fully crawling yet, its really hard for him to get anywhere. He ends up getting frustrated and cries and screams, until Aaron or I pick him up and take him where he wants to go. We can tell he's just using us, so we are trying to teach him that we aren't going to do everything for him, which in turn only makes him more mad. Ahh, the joys of being a parent.

He is also really curious. He loves to investigate new things and has this face he makes when he sees something he wants to see more of:) Its really cute and I'm still trying to catch it on camera...hopefully one of these days, I'll be able to show it to you.

Man, I wish this thing were real...

Hi! Want to do some push ups with me?

I promise that even though they may hurt now, they'll still hurt later:):):)

Hey! Come on, let me outta here!!!

Are you kidding me? You're going to make me stay in here?

FINE! But don't expect me to like it!

Mommy said that once I learned to read I could go to school, so I better start now!

You mean, it will be HOW long before I can go?!?!?

Ah, this is better...a different toy...thanks!

Look at me go!!

And this is my retreat from the daily grind, isn't it grand?

Zoo and sickness

Bowen is our friends 6 year old and he was a great older brother for the day! He helped push the stroller and point out animals to Noah. We had a great day.
It seemed Noah finally payed more attention to the animals than to the people:)

His version of a self portrait!

Noah and his best friend, Mommy:)

Obviously he found something pretty funny!

Lai and Bowen

Instead of "Where's Waldo", how about a game of "Where's Noah"?:)

Daddy and Noah out playing in the yard.

The bandana makes him look like a cancer patient! But he actually kept it on his head and didn't automatically reach to pull it off!

Bathtime with Noah.
We've had an interesting 24 hours here. Noah went through his first bout of real sickness. He was throwing up every 20 minutes for about 3 1/2 hours! You can officially call us parents now! YUCK! And it seemed that Noah always threw up when Aaron was holding him, so Aaron went through as many outfits as Noah! I think its finally passed and we're trying to play catch up on rest and fluids. We have a very busy weekend ahead of us, so hopefully, neither Aaron nor I get it!

A Cowboys tale

Hi! I'm so glad you stopped by so I could tell you my tale...

Its actually a real crowd pleaser, I found it hilarious! (in the end):)

I was out one day just working in the corral with the horses, when all of a sudden....

What's that, the puppy-calf got out? Hmm...whats the best way to handle a loose puppy-calf?

GOT 'EM!!!!!!

Shoot, now wheres my rope?

Hold on ladies and gentlemen...this could get messy.

The only way to handle the situation is to take out my frustration on my hat. It'd be no good to take it out on the pup.

Better keep the rest from escaping too!

Whew! All in a days work..I think I'll drive into town and have me a little fun.

Better grab some candy for the road. Adios, Amigos!!

Odds and Ends of the week

Mommy and Noah went to pick blueberries with our friend/neighbor Laurie.

He has a new favorite face to make. He scrunches up his nose and breathes in and out through his nose really loud:) very cute.

I walked in to get Noah up from his nap this week to see this.

Can you see the 2 little chompers down there?

We found Noah actually sleeping like this. He moves quite a bit and had propped himself on his blanket:)

Mommy and Noah cuddle time. (man do I have a lot of freckles.)

Whatever he was doing, Noah sure was proud of himself:)

He loves this book...now if we could only teach him to READ the book and not eat it.

He loves to be just like daddy. This is daddys jacket for golf...but I don't know if Noah will give it back!
