Another great birthday

I had a great birthday last Saturday, thank you for all my well wishes! I love birthdays on the weekends since everyone can be home together! Thought you'd like to see a day in the life of a 29 year old. wait. Did I say that out loud?
Our friends PJ & Lai came over in the morning to cook me breakfast! It was delicious and so nice not the have to cook or clean up! Thanks guys!!!
So, this is the third time in a week that Noah has woken up from naptime wet! I really don't mind changing his bed or giving him a bath...its just gotta get done. But what I really don't enjoy is taking all these animals and getting them off the bed and then trying to find places for them all once I've made the bed. 3 times in a week is just a little over the top for this Mama. So, I finally had to take some to the stuffed animal hotel downstairs :) and give a few back to their rightful owner-Breven. Thankfully, Noah hasn't gotten that upset over it yet.
Not exactly what I would like to be doing on my birthday, but not everything can go perfectly!
2 reasons I had a good birthday...
And when its your birthday, you just have to take advantage and get as many hugs and kisses as possible...
I told Aaron there were 2 things I wanted for my birthday:
1. For him to make me dinner.
2. A really good dessert.
And he did great on both accounts.
Best dessert in a LONG time!!!!!
and yes, I'm sitting on the countertop, but we had to fit three people around this so I gave the boys the stools and got creative.
A cookie mudslide. Wanna come over? I need an excuse to make another!

Brothers, burps and bothersome

I love this picture. They are really playing together now. Its so much fun to see Noah teaching Breven how things work.
Hi, Mama! You'll never believe what Noah just taught me!
This is the way Daddy burps me. The key to getting a good burp is to make 'em change it up. Don't let them put you in the same position twice. What fun would that be?
These are the kinds of pictures we get now. Gone is our complacent little boy who would do whatever we ask. Aaron tried forever to get him to smile but Noah just wanted to go run away and hide in the closet. (Noah and I made the sign together:))

The giraffe tent

This is what our giraffe tent is supposed to look like.
And this is how it came out the other night when we tried to put it up again.
Lets just say...my engineering husband wasn't thrilled that I gave him this assignment when he learned that an intrigal piece was bent where it should not and he couldn't get it to stay up.
We had spent the better part of the afternoon looking for said tent and when Daddy had finally found it, he promised Noah that we could have dessert in the tent that night.
The boys worked so hard to put it all together but it just wasn't meant to be. So minus one Mommy (there definitely wasn't room!) they squeezed themselves into the tent to try to enjoy their dessert.
I think it was still a success.

Fresh fruits and veggies

My neighbor and I joined a co-op. Its great that I don't have to buy into it every week, since I wouldn't be able to keep up. But for the weeks we want to, I think we found a pretty good deal! This is my half of the fruits and veggies! I love being able to support my local farmers and its all organic, which I can definitely tell you we don't buy in the store.

Past and Present

Even though they may not look alike, they still have some of the same characteristics
My baby's not so little anymore:(
1 month old
8 1/2 months old!
But he still loves the swing.

Shaving cream fun

I can clearly remember the day in 2nd grade when my class was given shaving cream on each of our desks and told to have fun. I had SO MUCH FUN!
So I wanted to pass on that joy to my little boy.
At first, he just kept saying "I don't care for that" while I tried to convince him to just put his hands in for a second and then if he still didn't like it, we'd clean it all up. After several minutes of this, I finally went to go wash my hands to get him cleaned up and by the time I turned back around, he was elbow deep!
He had a ball! And I gotta admit-I did too:)

They'll find a way

No matter how hard you try to keep your kids (especially babies) from watching TV, they'll still find a way (for those who don't know-the TV is off to the left of the picture)

Random pics for October

My three boys know how to snuggle.
An unwanted hug.:)
Bath time is so exciting...he just wants to dance about it.
This is one of the many ways he eats his bottle now. He is all over the place and its still really hard.
He is getting very playful and is definitely a sensory child. Into the mouth it all goes. I think if he could find a way to get the vacuum into his mouth, he would.:)
Gotta love those baby blues.
Wrestling with Pooh.
We have had a long couple of weeks in regards to 1 issue. Noah has started to demonstrate some aggression towards Breven. Thankfully, only Breven and not other kids. But I have had a hard time dealing with it since most of our normal methods of discipline weren't working. It was time to get creative and inquisitive of other parents.
My mom had the good suggestion to help "humanize" Breven to Noah. After Noah is mean to Breven (i.e. hitting, pushing him over, sitting on his head:( ) we get down on the floor and rub the offended area and talk to Breven. So far, its really helped. In fact, we are down to almost no meanness towards Breven! WAHOO!!
Someone else told me that this might be an indicator that Noah needs some exercise using his big motor skills-like wrestling. So every couple of days, I make sure Noah and Pooh have a great wrestling match and the best part is that Pooh never gets hurt and in fact only says..."you're my friend":)
And thankfully...we are finally getting somewhere!
This hat still cracks me up, but it definitely keeps B warm! He went to the Dr. today and he's a healthy (with an ear infection) 8 1/2 month old weighing in at 19 lbs! He's getting big enough to get out of the carseat when we go somewhere so this hat is handy for these chilly days:)
He also LOVES to eat. He grunts and whines if he doesn't have anything when we sit down to a meal. I have started giving him other things to eat and he is enjoying the variety. I gave him some toast the other day and he sat like this for the longest time-with a piece of toast hanging out, barely in his mouth, playing with the rest of the piece.

There is hope!

This picture still cracks me up and made me wonder what was in store for our 2 boys.
But seeing this picture gives me hope.
Lord, may Aaron and I be worthy of these gifts you have given us. May we have the patience and wisdom to help them grow to honor and believe in you. And in everything we do, may you be glorified.

We're remodling?!?!

Why wasn't I informed?
Silly Mama, I'm just pretending.

Boys in brown

Who goes there?

Oh, hi! Look what I can do? I can see the whole room from here.

Hello Monkey!

Oh, look who it is! My local friendly construction worker. Hello, Noah the builder? Are you here to do some work?

Well, actually B-man, I thought I'd just come and hang out if that's alright with you? Mind if I join you in your fun looking bed?

Wait! I didn't actually say he could come in. Mama!

Noahs fun new game...Breven's fear

Whatcha doing Noah?
Well, that looks like fun. Breven, what do you think?
Its just a little scary, Mama.
Okay, so its more than a little scary.
Why did you think this was a good idea, Mama?
Come on, Breven. Maybe if we keep going, you'll grow to like it.

Boys, boys and more boys!

Hello! How is your week going? I'm having a good week but I really miss my Daddy.
I love you, Daddy! Noah says hi too!
Mommy makes me do this horrible thing called tummy time. How am I supposed to play like this, huh?
Oooh...let me try that
What's a guy gotta do to get a little food around here? Okay, Mama, I'll try waiting patiently.
That's a pretty cool dude over there, don't you think?
Here I go on my tummy again...what is this supposed to be teaching me, Mama?
Daddy's got some pretty nice hats. I may just have to take this one from him!
