Boy bonding time

...and who knew it would all revolve around a toilet!
The boys both love to help and now with Breven walking, I really mean help!
Learning about the inner workings of something so fascinating to the 1 year old mind.
And then passing that knowledge on to older brother.
And whats a project without a little playtime in the box?

A kids perspective

After asking Noah to put his pillowcase onto his pillow, I come back to find this. Apparently, I was misinformed. It isn't a pillowcase, its a footwarmer.

Cheese fondue

I saw a friends post about cheese fondue and thought it would be so much fun. We had to get a little creative though, since I couldn't find my fondue pot. We discovered that a rice cooker is actually perfect for fondue, you can keep it warm and even re-melt the cheese right there! Noah wasn't so sure at the beginning but he began to warm to the idea and as long as we kept his plate full of cheese covered items, B was happy too.
Starting to get things going
There are so many things you could use, but we used shrimp, apples, bread, broccoli and some left over asparagus. SO YUMMY!!
I'm amazed at my little man, who will eat most anything. I lost count of how many shrimp he ate.
Cheese. YES!
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy!

Time with Lolli and Poppi

Hi, everyone! Just wanted you to know that my Lolli and Poppi came to visit and play with us!
Noah and Poppi even got a chance to make cookies. And they taste great!
But the best time for me was when he spent some quality time with me.
As you can see, even though we had lots of fun...there were moments that weren't so much fun. Like this one, when they told us that they had to leave the next day!

7 years ago today...

I married my best friend!
I love you so much, babe and am so thankful that God gave me the perfect husband for me. Your dedication to your family, children, friends and work prove to me that our marriage will still be going strong for atleast another 7 years!
And that I knew a good thing when I saw it 20 years ago!!:)

Our trip to Kenosha

We took a weekend and went up to Kenosha for the wedding of a family friend. It was a great chance to get some quality time with Lolli and Poppi and even Auntie Marlene and Uncle Mike!
Such a fast trip, but we fit a ton in and the weather was gorgeous! Our hotel was right across the street from the outlet mall, which allowed Aaron and I a few chances to slip away and check out the sales.
The boys also got their first chance in a pool this year. Breven was content to sit with me on the edge of the hot tub while dipping his toes. And Noah was all in. Well, not completely...he wouldn't let his ears get wet, so his head never went under, but he had a great time splashing and playing with Daddy, Poppi and Lolli.
The wedding was beautiful and a great reminder for Aaron and I of what we committed to each other 7 years ago today!
Getting creative at dinner time:)
Breven getting creative at dinner time:)
I'm so excited!!! (well really, he's saying 'bah', B-code for ball. He loves to shout it whenever he spies a ball which can include anything from a picture, to an actual ball to a water tower.)
Check out those cute boys! Breven and Noah were dressed completely different, but we had to jump at the chance for B to wear the outfit N wore for both Uncle Danny & Auntie Katy's and Uncle J & Auntie Mary's weddings.
We also got a chance to visit the Jelly Belly factory and take a tour. Sadly the tour consists of a train trip watching videos around a warehouse of boxes, but Noah loved the train and the free jelly belly's afterwards were fun. Breven wasn't so excited about being confind so A and I didn't quite catch all the videos, but from what I did see, its quite the process!
They make you wear a hat throughout the train ride and B really didn't like that. The only way it worked was to wear it sailor style while holding onto both of his hands:)
Our cute group! Love you AM & UM!!!
Mama...forget the picture. Can I go check out all the candy?
Although this picture doesn't show it, Noah was so excited to take a picture next to the Jelly Belly car. Its just like our neighbor Lori's car and he was thrilled to point that out.
The boys also loved the carseat set up for our trip. Undivided attention? What's not to like?
Can I please have a snack, now?

Mother's day 2010

Yeah, I really am that far behind. Let's just say that being sick on Mothers day and having family come into town shortly after made for a very fast couple of weeks without a whole lot of time to post. So, I'm posting now:)
BEFORE I WAS A MOM
Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meals,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.
Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on, or
pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn't know that having something so small could make me feel so
important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.
Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn't know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much.
Thank you God for the privilege of these bundles of energy and thanks for all the moms (shout out to my mom and mom-in-love!) who went ahead of me and could impart their knowledge to us
Okay, seriously, B. Tell me how you really feel?

Harrison Ford's gone and Poppi has arrived

After Harrison spent a day with us, he decided it was just too much for him. And as soon as he left, guess who arrived...Poppi!
Noah watched Poppi for about 2 min and then just wanted to jump on the bed.
Lolli thought B might enjoy playing with some shaving cream...
boy was she wrong! He started shaking his hand to get it off and wouldn't stop crying until we got it all cleaned up off his hand.:)
No offense to Harrison, but I think B likes Poppi better.

The day Harrison Ford came to visit

Who knew such a big star would come to visit us!?!?!
At first he was a little shy...
He really didn't want us to take his picture...
But after a while, he began to warm up to the camera.
He even built a puzzle with Noah!?!?! (did you get the puzzle autographed, Noah?)
See...I told you. Harrison Ford came to visit us!
Thanks, Harrison for taking time to get to know my family. We love you already!!!

Watching for Lolli & Poppi to come

Hey, Breven. Whatcha doing?
Waiting for my Lolli and Poppi to come.
Oh, I think it's them.
Nevermind, it wasn't them. But I'm gonna keep watching, Mama.

All about a box

Hi, wanna see my new toy?
But I've gotta tell you, its not so much fun when you have to share a small box!
Ahh...much better. A little room to spread out.
Yeah, I even let Noah take a turn to. Are you having fun, Noah?
He likes to spread out too!
Mama, when's it gonna be my turn again?

B's new toybox

Isn't it gorgeous?
My dad is making a toy box for each grandchild and here is B's.
What's this Papa? Is this really for me?
Can I sit inside?
Ahh...feels like home. Its perfect, Papa. Thank you!
